Over the 13+ years I’ve been at it, I’ve grown into a full-service accounting studio that specializes in S corps and especially focuses on legal tax strategies to save business owners money. Ever heard of an accountable plan? My S corp clients have, and it’s one way we work together to save moolah.

Some bits and bobs about me...

I’m a little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n roll. The first half of my childhood was spent in Detroit going to Belle Isle, enjoying world-famous coney dogs with my grandpa at Genies Wienies on Conant Street and doing what we now call guerilla marketing with my sister for my parents’ side biz, a novelty store in our basement. Then, we moved to a working farm waaaay north of the city and life was all about goats and pigs.

Now, I'm going to share a secret...

Being an accountant wasn’t even on my radar while I attended seven colleges and universities before graduating. Yes, seven. I know what you’re thinking—no, I wasn’t a professional student. I worked full-time throughout those years and couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I fell into the “didn’t-have-a-passionate-calling” bucket. So, I started college in high school thinking I’d pursue psychology, then law, then ultimately something that would lead me to being a business owner.

I graduated summa cum laude from Western Carolina University with a BSBA in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. And, then I completed a concentration in accounting.

After moving cross-country and managing an Asheville, North Carolina, architecture firm for seven years, the housing bubble went bust, and so did all the jobs at the firm. Then-jobless, I started dabbling in recruiting consulting, website development, internet marketing and bookkeeping.

Considering I’d managed the accounting and payroll at the architecture firm, and had also managed a mixed-use development company, an a-ha moment inspired me to tap into my existing network of architects and engineers to offer bookkeeping services. And, biz took off.
